Girls, is it normal or a natural for a girls dad and brother to be overprotective and threaten her boyfriend and test him or read him out?

what i mean is they say the dad sees his negative quality or read them out and sense it and is over protective in nature and that its natural for a dad or bro to test or screen the gurls boyfriend

I know my dad is protective of me but doesn't automatically have a negative view of someone. He just wants the best for me like most parents do. I'm his first born girl so there is that too.

I think it is normal for the most part to be protective. I don't think it is normal to automatically have a negative view without knowing the person.

Dads moreso than brothers I think but it's natural for them to be protective. My dad and brother tended to leave mine alone.
