Yes - your partner represents you, but I also feel like the way your partner dresses should be a deciding factor on whether or not it’s a deal breaker to you in the beginning of talking stages. There should be open discussions about attire and preferences. I feel like a lot of people avoid these kind of talks and then wonder why they have attire issues whilst dating someone. Usually controlling men - will not say there’s an issue with his girlfriends attire until they start dating and he views her as property

I can't speak for everyone, but personally, I do care about my partner's attire when we're dating. I believe it's important to put your best foot forward and to make an effort. This doesn't mean I expect my partner to dress up or put on makeup every time we hang out, but I do like it when he looks clean and well-groomed, and presents himself in a way that is appropriate for the situation and setting. For example, if we're going out to a fancy dinner, I don't expect him to show up in sweats and a hoodie.
