I’m neurodivergent myself, but not autistic, however I find that I always get along much better with neurodivergent people or more specifically autistic people, as they seem to understand me better and I understand them better aswell. Compared to neurotypical people. I’ve dated two autistic people and both times they’ve been able to read me easily based on my body language or tone of voice, whereas neurotypical people struggle to read me. I usually go mute when I’m upset or overstimulated, so having someone be able to read me and understand me without me having to say a word, is very helpful.
I believe it would be very difficult to have a relationship with an autistic person who struggles with being engaged, eye contact, can be hyper-focused on a project or work to the point of ignoring your needs or wants.
Of course autistic individuals are as unique as neurotyps, and vary broadly. You'd have to learn the quirks of the person and discover if you can work with them,
So I didn’t have those issues but I was extremely thoughtful like I knew dates and the significance of things and would always have things ready for my ex girlfriend.
Absolutely! Autistic people tend to be really, really nice, and nice people are just way more fun to hang with:)
I would go out and get her gifts if I knew she liked something or if it was her color
That sounds nice:)
