Why do some people think it's not right for a handsome man to be attracted to an average woman?

They think that sexual attraction is everything in a relationship, and/or that the pretty people are entitled to one another. When Billy Joel married Christie Brinkley, the two of them got this constantly, though it was the other way around. He was a talented musician who was average-looking at best; she was a supermodel. Here's a picture from the time of their wedding:

While Billy's not ugly, he's hardly the handsomest guy in the world. But with all that he's given to his audience and the world, you'd think that he at least deserves a happy married life, and you'd be content to wish them a good marriage, no? Well, that's because you're a decent human being. Others didn't, and it contributed to the breakup of their marriage. (And their daughter, Alexa Joel, also had some serious issues from growing up the child of two mega-star parents; I guess everything related to their relationship was centered around suffering).
