Any advice on helping a guy be comfortable opening up to you?

I am dating a man who loves me and I love him but we have one hurdle I am super open and vulnerable and he isn't. I have told him it's safe to open up to me and I haven't judged him for anything he has ever told me, but he is a vault to his true feelings and struggles. I don't want to give up on him but it feels like knocking on a bolted shut door. Any advice is appreciated.

You are dating a man, not a woman. We are different. We don't need to be open about our feelings. if you want a man to open up to you, then date a woman...

Your issue is you are trying to change him and if you succeed, that change will result in loss of attraction. You are super open and vulnerable... if a man was that way in his life he'd probably be dead already.

Surely you were attracted to his masculine traits. There are also many men that are more open, vulnerable and do exactly as you described. But you are not with them! think about it.

Many men that are like this has deep seeded issues that need to be let out in therapy. Is he being emotionally available in things that matter to start a relationship? If he’s not, this probably is not going to be a healthy relationship
