A guy from my old high school recently got in touch with me. He was one of the biggest nerds. I was kind of a party girl, and had a bit of a rep as being promiscuous. He’s still a virgin but I’m not like that anymore. He was one of the guys that was always nice to me and didn’t just want to have sex all the time.

He’s such a good guy, I’m afraid he won’t see me for who I am now and still think I’m the girl from before. I love being with him but I’m afraid to ask him out. He says he’s waiting for the right girl. I don’t know if I will ever be anyone’s right girl. Is there any chance it could work?

I’d definitely hope that in your age range you are now a woman and not the teenage girl you were so many years ago. I’d also hope you wouldn’t make your choices about him now based on who he was in his adolescence.

Maybe. Ex-party girls like to be abstinent and pretend that they’re wholesome now that they’ve already had their fun. If he’s in his mid-20’s he’ll be coming into his own now and may not be interested in waiting around for a newly self righteous girl who’s “found” herself and decided to withhold sex from her partner. Not saying this is the exact scenario here or trying to insult you, but it’s something to consider.

It's pretty typical of girls your age to think your highschool years will affect the rest of your life, because it wasn't that long ago, but choices you made as a dumbass kid have little effect on your adulthood.

He got in touch with you so I presume he WANTED to get in touch with you and he saw probable VALUE in getting in touch with you.
Maybe he just wants to get his rocks off and thinks you might be his one night stand.
Maybe he doesn't care about any of your past behaviour because that is past behaviour.
Maybe he always likeed yyou and he still likes you and now he has the confidence to be able to say so.
Who Knows?
Ask him why he contacted you and he'll probably tell you.
