Ok so first, people should theoretically be walking side by side if they're walking together. It's 2023, we don't have weird etiquette rules on where people have to stand in references to one another anymore.

But second, I actually personally tend to walk slightly behind people of any/either gender. (Not because of some weird dominance/superiority dynamic, I just don't pay attention to where I'm walking and am more likely not to trip/walk into something if someone else has to encounter said obstacle first lol). So it low key depends on personal preference, though that isn't necessarily gendered. Default is probably next to each other though lol
