Girls, Did I ask her out the right way?

So a girl I've known for a bit of time has recently been a bit flirtier with me, and is spending a lot of time talking with me on the phone, texting, etc.

Yesterday, I decided to go for it and ask her out, and I said "hey, next week, would you have availability to get dinner and subsequently drinks with just the 2 of us?"

If a guy asked you this, would you understand that it's a date? Might be overthinking things here, but just needed women's thoughts on this!

Yep. I would definitely get the hint. That is if you were flirty with me or I was being flirty too. Then for sure that is a date to me. If we had more of a friend vibe going on then maybe I would think twice but even then I am going to assume you are asking me out on a date. I think the important thing is how the meetup goes. You should be able to tell a lot from how things transpire on the date as to what she thinks of your relationship.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I've always asked out women that way, so just wanted to confirm :'). A few weeks back I asked if she wanted "to hang out", and she had responded by saying she wanted to invite our mutual friends. This time around, I figured it was very obvious since I asked for just the 2 of us (and seems to understand the situation).

You're welcome and yeah that is not unusual for a girl to want to go in a group in the beginning. I do agree after that is happened it is time for one on one so you can really get to know each other. I think she gets what it means.
