Girls, Should I ask her out? How?

There’s really not much to this but I met a girl this past weekend and thought she was pretty cute and it seems like we have a lot in common. I’d like to ask her out so we can get to know each other and see if we really hit it off. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to get her number cause our conversation got interrupted and cut short. I’d like to talk to her again and see where things go. I’m just not sure if it would be weird if we’ve only talked once and just had a pretty brief conversation. But, then again the point of a first date is to get to know someone🤷‍♂️

We have some mutual friends that I could ask for her number so I can text her or I could just DM her on instagram. I’m curious what you think would be best because I don’t want to overstep my boundaries. Am I overthinking this?😭
