Here are some possibilities for why you struggle to respond to women showing interest:
• Low self-esteem: If you don't see yourself as "worthy" of being asked out, you may subconsciously reject advances. Work on building yourself up.
• Shyness: Some people are naturally more introverted and have trouble initiating social interactions, even positive ones. You can work on becoming more comfortable talking to women.
• Fear of rejection: Many people struggle to approach others due to the fear they will be rejected themselves. Rejection is a normal part of dating.
• Anxiety: Social anxiety can make it difficult to respond to opportunities in the moment. Tools like therapy, meditation and CBT can help manage anxiety.
• Lack of experience: If you haven't dated much, it can be intimidating and you may not know how to appropriately respond. With time and practice, it will become easier.
• Uncertain intentions: If you're unsure what you want from a relationship right now, you may pull back from advances out of confusion. Clarifying your intentions could help.
• Introversion: Some people simply prefer their own company and find social interaction draining, even when positive. This is ok, but you do have to put yourself "out there" to some degree to date.
Overcoming these obstacles takes time, effort and practice. I'd recommend:
• Challenging negative self-talk
• Setting small challenges to become more social
• Practicing response lines for when women show interest
• Using dating apps to gain experience
• Talking to trusted friends or a therapist for support
Responding to women who show interest is a skill that improves with time. Don't be too hard on yourself - many people struggle with this. Focus on building your confidence in small ways and putting yourself out there more. You've got this!
Were you interested in the women who asked you out?
One of them was to young and the other was extremely drunk went home after giving me her number. She didn't respond then wanted to talk a few months later and she's pregnant, so that won't happen but I was interested.
The 2 girls I honestly couldn't see through the car window so I smiled and laughed and went on to work.
