Because they check the boxes of what many women look for in guys. Since a rich guy is likely to give financially security, he is probably ambitious especially if he´s selfmade rich so he doesn´t let himself go when he´s older and he´s a guy to show off to friends.
I think at least some younger women would prefer a rich guy over an average because they don´t have life experience and need to learn that a guy that knows how to impress isn´t always the best choice as a partner.

For the same reason it's appealing to men. Money=power. She made not wield the power directly. But she wields influence over than man.

Women want power and influence same as men. And to quote the movie The Player's Club, they "use what they got to get what they want".

It depends on who you ask. Some women prefer a certain type of lifestyle and want a man who can afford that lifestyle. However, I think for a lot of women, it’s a matter of security.

Finances are often a relationship killer. It’s hard to love someone properly when you’re constantly worrying about being able to afford to live.

working in healthcare, i have rich, well off- Drs. hit on me more then my fair share, does nothing for me. telling me about their lavish vacations and cars or their expensive name brands, i personally dont find money appealing. i provide my own stability and would never reply on someone else for that

Money gives you a lot more options in life, more fun things you can do, less worries. Its just one of many different things that matter, but it does matter.
