Because fighting and an unstable relationship isn´t what he´s looking for. Most guys are looking for harmony and a good time in a relationship if there is no fun time and it makes a guy get uncomfortable with a woman.
So he looks for harmony and appreciation somewhere else.

Instead of cheating he should break up. Why would anyone seek for drama, constant arguments and instability in a relationship? Why would anyone want to put up with so much negativity at just the dating stage?

That's the stage where it's expected to have a good impression and bring peace.

I have a better question. Why do you still use the term “boyfriend” to refer to someone who ‘thinks about screwing you over when you fight’? It shows his character is not worth your time.
