Why did she say she wanted to be friends but gets jealous when I date other girls?

Met a girl, and we went on two dates. She told me that she just wanted to be friends, which I was totally ok with. We talk regularly still, however, when I told her about another girl I started seeing, she got really jealous. What’s the deal here?

Because she was afraid of losing “affection”, in another word “benefits”, whether it is emotional benefits or material or anything.
Or she just doesn’t want to lose someone that could be a backup plan. This sounds harsh but a girl I knew was exactly like this. She didn’t like a guy but didn’t want to lose the guy, not because she didn’t want to lose the guy but because she didn’t want to lose attention, support, admiration… etc, it had nothing to do with the guy but just her selfish needs.


Don’t think it’s because she likes you because if a girl likes a guy, she would even make a move herself, I don’t think a girl likes a guy but still rejects him when she can get him. It doesn’t work like that.
