She has a boyfriend, but she seems to get jealous when other girls talk to me why?

Well as in the title she has a boyfriend, I try my very best to be respectful towards that and respect her boundaries. But I’ve noticed with her every time another girl talks to me she seems to get jealous? I started to notice this one day when, she was talking about her boyfriend in front of me. But once I started talking about another girl who I was talking too, she became disinterested and quiet and was trying to get out of our conversation. she would just say, yeah yeah and giving me the 😕 kinda look. Since then I’ve noticed as well she’d see me and just wave saying “hey how are you?” (I know that means nothing lol) however if she sees me talking to another she she seems to put herself into our conversation. And being super friendly and talkative towards me more than she usually is. Now anytime we are talking she’s always giving me little comments like saying “you’re such a nice person” and catching her from the across the room giving me big smiles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you 😊

It seems like she may have some feelings for you beyond just being friends, even if she's in a relationship. Her getting more attentive and engaging when she sees you talking to other girls is a classic sign of jealousy. Some possibilities:

- She may like the attention you give her but isn't ready to fully act on her interest since she has a boyfriend already. So she gets territorial.

Yeah I try my best not to get too involved with her. I use to know a girl years and years ago who acted exactly the same way. But I had no feelings towards her at all. I always did my best to keep the conversation casual and keep my distance at times.

With this girl of now, anytime I keep my distance and she doesn’t see me for a few weeks, she gets annoyed and won’t even talk to me the first time she sees me in a long time. But after seeing me again regularly she’s back to being super friendly and always watching who I’m talking to. Anytime she seems me texting someone it’s the same thing she gets annoyed by that. I can honestly say when I’m around her I not texting another girl, it’s either a buddy of mine or a family member.
So yeah I do my best at keeping the boundary line between her and me, I try to keep it small talk. As best as I can of course.

Dang dude, she sounds super jealous and possessive over you even though she's got a boyfriend. That's definitely not cool of her. You're right to keep your distance as much as you can without being rude.

It almost seems like she might be one of those girls who likes the attention and getting a reaction out of you when she sees you talking to other girls. Like she enjoys knowing she can still make you a priority even if you're not officially together, if that makes sense.

Obviously that's not fair to you or respectful of her actual relationship. Keep doing you - live your life and focus on your other friends/family like you have been. If she gets annoyed when you're not giving her constant attention, that's her problem not yours.

I have thought that myself she likes the attention. Yeah it’s quite easy for me to avoid her, its also why I keep telling myself she’s not my girlfriend and I’m not her boyfriend, I owe her nothing. I say that in a respectful way of course. I agree she needs to figure things out on her own.

For sure man, keeping that boundary clear in your mind is important. At the end of the day you gotta do what's best for you and not get too caught up in her drama. Even if she makes it tempting sometimes with all the attention! But yeah, saying she's not your girl and you don't owe her anything is a good way to look at it while still being respectful.

Some girls just can't help but stir things up even when they're taken. But it ain't your problem to solve. As long as you keep your distance and don't lead her on, her issues with deciding between you and her dude aren't your responsibility. You could be very well right on this one! I try to keep my expectations real by not thinking oh she must like me more than a friend. I use to have a friend just like her, like 15 years ago and acted very similar. But at the time I never put much thought into it, with this new friend of now acting the same.
I thought it would be a good time to get other’s opinion. Yeah you could have it right!
