It shouldn't matter anymore what he does or who he's with now. He's your ex. Leave him alone. It would be no different than if you found someone new and you had a better relationship and you find out that your ex questions why that is. It's simple. You didn't work together and one of you has moved on to find something [he] values. Let it be your queue to do the same.
