If the house is large enough and she's wealthy enough, sure. Vets are expensive. 12 cats would be costly even with medical insurance. If she can swing all that, I've no issue with her provided they weren't designer cats and she responsibly got them from a shelter or in the wild.

I don’t think having two cats is a red flag, generally you might have more than one to keep the other company. Or maybe someone couldn’t keep their cat and you were the only option over the cat going to the Humane’s Society. Three is a gray area, not necessarily a red flag but it’s where I start feeling weary/questioning. Four or more I would proceed with caution.

Where I live in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, USA you are allowed only 4 cats and 4 dogs and 2 cats and 2 dogs, etc. but you are only allowed 4 total that is the rule. But it's a comfortable City, only rules suck or people always break the rules here.

when mywife met me, I had multiple cats. I had taken in a foster cat that multiplied to 7. I had 4 remaining. It's too many cats. Cats are like... we'll... cats! They turn everything into themselves.

She should have run for her life given allergies, but she stayed, were married. the cats are all gone but one. I mis my little buddies but we had a good life.

I'm sure this varies from person to person! My wife and I both "strayed" away from cats, because we are highly allergic to most breeds. We both know a couple of crazy cat ladies as well :-)

If they are well off otherwise I won’t judge. But some people try to use animals as a replacement for human interaction. That can be a red flag.

Of course animals don’t replace kids. Kids are very hard work! They are extremely expensive and time consuming and they restrict your entire life. You have to literally build your whole schedule and life around them. Pets? No… they will never be as near as expensive, or stressful, or time consuming like kids are.

Right or wrong I can't get all upset of what others think though.
