Why would a guy crack weird jokes. he lied that he was beggar as child?

i met him online. i can not differentiate whether he is saying it for real or he is kidding. he said that he was beggar as child and he was adopted. but later he said that he was just kidding. most of the time i talk to him he is not serious. I don't know what kind of weird person he is. why would he make such weird jokes. i never met any guy like this before. he also has troll account on social media where he abuses people for no reason. he also threatened me 2 times to k! ll me and k! dnap me. do u think he could be psychopath?
