I thought about pursuing truck driving, but my mother is highly against it. She thinks it would be unattractive for a lot of women. Truckers make around $70k-$90k a year fairly easily now. What are your thoughts?
There is a shortage of truckers now so that drives up the price but people will flood the market with truckers and it will not be as lucrative and jobs will be more scarce. Besides, within ten or 15 years there will be self driving trucks that will put them all out of work.
Trucking is a good job I would think. But its a lot of sitting and eating crappy food. UPS pays well and its local with good benefits. A trucking company is like any other company where you can move up into management. It pays more than a firefighter which women like. Just be aware that self driving trucks will eliminate your job in the future which may be as little as 10-15 years away.
Hard work for them, they have to focus and drive for a long time. Decent money … long distance … can’t see family often, not so healthy sitting a lot.

I don’t think ew. If my boyfriend were a trucker I’d be too worried about his safety, I’ve seen so many trucks over turn on the road near my house lately.

I have a CDL-A and it's a great thing to have. You will always be able to get a job. One problem is there are soooo many jobs from which to choose.
I highly recommend getting all the endorsements including doubles/triples definitely hazmat. Don't just get the class B, get the Class A.
When you find that girl, just switch to local or short distance driving. You can also get your construction licenses.. Drive a school bus? etc..
