You shouldn't beg. You should explain what actually happened to clear it up, save his feelings, save your reputation, it's a win win, but you can't make him accept it. If he doesn't, that's on him and you dodged a bullet. I think electronically blocking someone is inappropriate in case of an ex, but that's just me.
