Do you think not dating someone is a good excuse because you work together?

He said he had a bad experience. Is he just saying that because he's not interested. This guy stares at me a lot and sometimes blushes when he sees me. my friend said he couldn't hid his eyes or smile when he started talking about me. At time's while talking to me he would stutter a bit or stammer over his words. He knew already that I liked him.

Why would that have to be an excuse? Some people find dating on the job to be complicated, messy, or even threatening to their employment. That's being conscientious, not making an excuse. There are women on the job I like, but won't try dating them because stuff like that is talk of the town and can end up not working out.

He might like you, but if he told you he's had a bad experience in the past then that means he probably doesn't want to act on it again.

I wouldn't date a coworker because bad things can happen. 3 main ones
1) He becomes your supervisor or superior
2) You become his supervisor or superior
3) You have a fight or disagreement at home and since you work together you don't have work to cool down about it.

Overall work and personal life should not mingle. Separate the two and if you date someone make sure they aren't your coworker, and if you can, make sure they don't become one.
