Do you ever let someone go who tried their best to be there for you?

so i was seeing this guy for over two months, everything was good sweet and nice, but he has too many insecurities regarding his past and how im out of his league, so he went on to sabotage everything saying how he still feels for his ex, then telling me it wasn't true, but then not giving me a chance, again going to the same shit of how he likes the other girl

His insecurities about his past is destroying him by taking the upper hand and not allowing him to go beyond that past. He is stuck in a loop that he cannot get out of.

Also, he is the typical kind of person that believes in those artificially created leagues. There are no such leagues when it comes to dating. They are self created handicaps that people impose on themselves and on others. If he was a little extroverted and not so much introverted, he would have been able to see beyond those "leagues".

I do believe that he seriously needs to seek the help of a specialist, otherwise he will slowly get into a depressive state where he will not be able to get out just by himself.

If I ever would want to date and see that someone is sabotaging himself, then yes, I would let him go because I don't want to be dragged down in his pit.

So wait. This guy was dating you and also telling you that he had feelings for another girl? Talk about self destructive behavior. I have never heard of someone doing that and thinking the person was going to stick around. I mean why would you? Sounds like a nightmare of two months. People that are insecure like that would drive me nuts and cause me to do exactly what you did and just give up on the relationship. That sorta thing gets old really quick. If I am with someone it is because they are good enough for me or why would I bother?

yes we were dating started very friendly ways, escalated from there, i was told he's over her (they had a situationship, the girl kept him on string for few years and then blick unblock him, when she wants attention, n yeah..) i had known he's over her but later he said he's not, then comes back apologising, everything was good again, but then one evening he starts fighting, how he only wants her and her alone

then he again came back, told me how he still feels for me, crying and then got angry again coz i told one of my friends about the whole scene before how he left me for her, n i was angry i said stuff of how i have bad standards

Wow that is some really self destructive stuff there. I don't blame you one bit telling him to hit the bricks if that is what you did. That would be annoying and a sign of someone not ready to be in a relationship.

i just dont know what to do? coz i feel for him so much but i just dont get if he does. one minute he's putting efforts, talking, flirting, allowing me to do things, he won't allow others, meeting me alone, dropping things to meet me and next minute he doesn't want anything
