Whether he/she is a business executive, restauranteur, lawyer, doctor or even a farmer or a dockworker.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNo.
I worked 💪 extremely hard to get where I am today. 2 university degrees by 21, specialist, headhunted for jobs, etc.
I want someone who will successfully contribute to my life and can hold an intelligent conversation. Who doesn't have to get drunk every day after work, heavy smoker, prone to complaining but no real drive to improve, etc.
So that essentially eliminates menial task, labor intensive, and/or low/no education jobs. Yes not everyone in these fields is a dullwit or drunkard but majority are and life is too short to wait for needle in a haystack.

Not to mention dating or marrying someone with differing standards or goals creates tons of friction in a relationship because one naturally carries the weight while the other free loafs

occupation so he can most likely be hourly. But for a woman to date men in low status careers he must be sexy looking otherwise its not happening

+1 yI was going to say yes but now that I think about it, there are definitely certain careers that are deal breakers.
i would never date a cop, firefighter, or some other career where they’re risking their life every day. I’m not dealing with the stress of wondering if my partner is making it home or not… also fuck cops lol. ACAB 😋I wouldn’t be comfortable dating sex workers. I have nothing against people in that line of work but they’re just not for me.
and I couldn’t do long distance so nothing where they’re traveling all the time

I wouldn’t harass them but I just don’t respect most of them lol
a bunch of power hungry douchebags. Not all of em though
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yYoung honeybee, @FecalDong sees no difference between flower and the job. Much like a delicate blossom, one can have many petals and still bloom beautifully. As the saying goes, "the anus is only as good as its last shit." So too, a person's occupation matters not in the grand scheme of things. All that matters is whether they are like the mighty oak, standing tall and strong through life's storms. For true love is like a well-placed karate chop to the heart; it knows no boundaries or limitations. Boom boom long time!

what about a prostitute?

@BlissfullyCurSed I never dated a prostitute, though I did spend an enjoyable evening once with a female escort... after my divorce.

I DATED them (and perhaps sated them, as well.)

+1 yNo.
I'd not do any long distance. Military, pilots, flight attendants.
No super busy, hectic career jobs like lawyers or on call surgeons.
No models or actresses who have to be nude for the world or kiss co-stars.
No travel. I wouldn't have been with someone who traveled for their jobs.
No sex workers of any type or anyone who has ever done sex work ever, even for 1 hour.

+1 yOf those you mentioned: sure.
However, there are some I would not date. I'd not date someone who travels a lot for living, I want my partner to actually be there not away from me. A sex worker - I'm strictly mono, that would not go well with that. And I'd not date someone who's in the public eye - that would bring attention to me and my life and that I would hate.
10 ReplyI would say dating somebody for their occupation is not really something I would do. It revolves more around their personality, education history, attitude, moral standards, lifestyle, and goals.
For example, I would prefer a woman my age working a minimum wage job that holds strong goals, a self-sufficient lifestyle, and strong moral values, over a playgirl working as a bio-engineer with a 200k salary.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yThere are a few that would be dealbreakers for me. If he worked as a gas station clerk, for example, and had no drive to do better that would be a dealbreaker for me. Salary is important to me as well. So long as we’re making enough between each other to comfortably support each other and not be a stresser on one person we’re Gouda.

+1 yNo, I prefer white collar men. Although I do respect the blue collar profession and love a man that's good with his hands I feel they work a lot. If he's constantly working we will never have time together. unless he becomes an owner of a blue collar business that's different.

+1 yI had been asked about my job, in many chats, and when i mentioned "construction", the next second was instant "block", so is better to mention just Un-Employed, at least that way i expect an instant Rejection! 🤦♂️
10 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. There are some occupations that I would reject. Military, law enforcement, judicial system, politician, and maybe some others, such as jobs where she worked long hours or traveled a lot.

Any person who worships income, status, or ''career'' (and such ) isn't in line with me.
10 Reply 3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Of course I would, providing they were honest and hard working.

+1 yAbsolutely... their occupation isn't important when dating
10 Reply- 3.9K opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yIt depends on her availability and schedule more than the occupation itself. There are some I can think of that are deal breakers right off the bat, like politically affiliated jobs with the wrong side.
00 Reply Of course, they can all be good people, no matter their occupation (unless they did bad things).

10 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. Yes, unless it's an extreme.. Like hitman or drugs dealer. I also wouldn't be comfortable with a prostitute.
10 Reply2.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. Yeah, I don't care what she does for a living, as long as she's not a hooker or a bum
10 Reply6.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. Nah, I wouldn't date anyone who's job it is to share their body with others.
10 ReplyFor me, no cops, no first responders, or someone in the military. Those careers are extremely dangerous and unpredictable.
