It was really nice that both me and my partner were pretty good at cooking. Is it a deal breaker for you if the person you're interested in can't cook?

+1 yI'm a fantastic cook, but honestly, her not knowing how to cook is still a dealbreaker for me, at this point. It's not even because of the quality of food, it's a statement about her energy as she goes through life. I genuinely don't care if she's the kind of cook who burns water; what I care about is the statement she's making about her priorities in life.
Yeah, she might not know how to cook well, but does she want to learn? Does she have a few recipes her mom taught her that she depends way too much on? Is she buying cook books and trying things, even though she didn't have people to teach her? Or does she not know how to cook because she's been putting 60 hour weeks in at work and would rather bar hop with the girls than reheat a frozen skillet dinner? And then it's a question of what she does for work; is she busting her ass at a mid level management gig, or is she killing it in a high-powered dream job?

+1 yA dude who can cook is a plus, a gift and a blessing. But I am working to improve my cooking skills. My mum taught me that you can't just know how to make good decisions in the boardroom. Better learn how to mix those spices and clean that kitchen-sound and Good advice. She did it, though we also had a maid. My ma made decisions in the boardroom-still does, cooked and cleaned when the maid wasn't home
11 ReplyYes. After all, even I (yes i, a male) can cook. So if she can't cook either, then that's just... off putting. Where's the adult woman mentality to act one's age ♀️ I'd wonder. So anyways. Deal breaker and I couldn't date a woman like that. Picky me 😁
22 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. Yes because I don´t want to cook all the time and I think it´s basic adult behavior. I´m not talking about highly complex dishes but if a person can´t cook at all they don´t live a healthy lifestyle. Many diseases in modern day at least in the West are around because people eat wrong. It´s also not a question of sex I think a guy should be able to care for himself as well.
22 Reply565 opinions shared on Dating topic. I mean... i can cook but my n*gga, if you can't cook shi, then what are you going to do when I'm not home for a week? Not get mcdonalds the whole week, right? Cause i stg, you can kiss my ass goodbye... and give a good pat as well... ya know... if you want. 🫠

m +1 yit certainly is a big big plus and something I would prefer, yes...
but no, I don't see it as a deal breaker
because there's people who don't know how to properly cook YET... those who just don't enjoy/like to cook... and then you have those who will burn water without a fire, lmao...00 Reply It's not a dealbreaker but a guy making me dinner is hot 😍

+1 yNot a deal breaker but I'd rather she could. It's not rocket science really is it. I'd be willing to teach her if she couldn't for sure

Thank you 😊
If she doesn't know how to cook it's fine as long as she's willing to try. I'm happy to cook for my partner and would actually like to cook for my partner anyways, but I'm a relationship it should go both ways :)
