If I can't cook? Guys: is this a deal breaker for anyone

I'm in a new relationship. Its going great. Its only been a few months but we are on the more serious side. He keeps asking me to cook for him. He jokes around about how I'm smart and pretty but can I cook. I know he is serious and I want to do it eventually but he brings it up a lot so now I'm thinking its like a deal breaker for him if I can't cook. I know he should like me either way...but I'm I just over thinking this? would it be a deal breaker for anyone if your girlfriend can't cook? if not, why do you think he is so insistent on the issue. ( he asks me at least every few days lol)

I need a girl who can make something for me to eat and same for most guys. As most guys always say a way to their stomach is a way to their heart. Even a sandwich or something would likely start off the progress. But it is a dealbreaker but I've been with girls that don't know how to cook and been fine but than I normally cook for myself or if to busy I end up eating fast food and so does she. The thing I hate about it is I rather know she can food so when I come from school/work I can get down to eating if she's home. That's all I want to do is eat. And it's the same for every guy I know. Busy day means hungry when coming home. So if you invite him for a dinner or something maybe that's all he wants.

Well your an adult so your with an adult. So he's likely somebody who comes home hungry. I know I do and I hate having to deal with waiting to cook a meal or deal with fast food. I wish I had a meal all made but I ain't no mama's boy to stay with my mom either. But if I have a girlfriend that can cook it is a plus side and it's normally always a plus side to every single guy. Now will he dump you over it? I am not sure. I've seen it before.

It is not a deal breaker. See... as a man... we have deal breakers that make sense. Like if you've been in a mental institution, or you're missing multiple limbs, or you're a single mother. Or you have a sh*t personality. There is no getting around that sh*t.

Girls have stupid sh*t... like oh... he's unemployed. Like he'll be unemployed the rest of his f***ing life. Or he drives a stupid car. Or he doesn't dress nice. Stupid... non-permanent, fixable things.

Cooking? So what? You can learn to cook if it's so important. Or he'll cook. Or you'll eat out. Who cares?

I know I'm not a guy, but...OK, if you can cook, why is this such a big, mysterious dilemma for you? Either cook a dinner for him or forget it. And why don't you ask him why he keeps asking you to do so? It seems to me that the best thing to do is clarify this with him. It's no big deal. Really. Just tell him that you can cook, and ask him if that would be a deal breaker for him if you couldn't. After all, if your in a relationship, you should be able to discuss anything. Otherwise, you shouldn't be in a relationship. Right?

Doubt it's a dealbreaker. Definitely isn't for me. He's probably just joking around or just curious to try your cooking. But if a girl couldn't cook for crap I wouldn't care as long as the other important things were working. And if they weren't but she were the freaking Iron Chef, it wouldn't matter.

Cooking shouldn't be that big a deal, but some people want a mother. If he breaks up with you because you can't cook, it's his loss. Trust me, you have nothing to worry about.
