Both, really.
In 1999, I was 36 when I met a young lady who was 20. I was very interested in her, but, at the same time, I also realized she was a NEW adult and didn't not know all that much and was not supported very well.
So, I likely could have fallen in love with her, but also would have felt somewhat paternalistic because, as her man, it would be my duty to care and protect her and part of that is to teach her about things so she can take care of herself as an adult.
Sadly, we never became a couple and, unfortunately, her life did not turn out well. Had we been a couple and she stayed with me, I think her life would have been better, but I can't be 100% of that because sexual issues would have intervened due to the age difference.
Romantic feelings. Definitely not paternal.
I think it’s absolutely disgusting to date somebody you have paternalistic feelings for such as 20 year old kids or naive and immature guys my age.
I’m saying it’s one or the other not both at the same time ie the two feelings. Which is more common?
if the guy is 40 and the girl is 27 then it's sexual, no matter what he says or she says
Same for 43?

It all depends on the person really
Yes and their sex drive? Also feelings can change sexual quick
If they've had sex already, surely all motherly or fatherly feelings fly out the door.
Don’t know why I found that hysterical. LOL!
That would depend on the individual
Just want to fuck
That applies to 18+?
A lot but not all
Ok makes sense
