Is she testing me?

I met this girl a few months ago and I slid into her dm's. i responded to one of her stories that said "best friend in the world something something" I don't remember the rest, I responded "Thanks" jokingly. but she got the hint and asked did I know how old she was, I said no, she said my mohter's age, I respond with a gif saying age ain't nothing but a number, she sent laughing emoji. that convo pretty much ended there, but I why I kept talking to her, I thought she might've been interested, because in one of her IG stories she said "I thought I nabbed thor but when he shaves he looks like peewee herman." I'm 99% sure it was referring to m sicne that describes me. for this reason i was sure she was interested.

I kept dm'ing her hoping to keep things alive until we were able to hang. at one point she even jokingly asked me i was going to ask her for dinner, it was on her birthday so i let it go. any other time it would be fucked up thing to do. today i asked her out, and she pretty much responded with the same ' do u even know how old i am' the convo was pretty much word for word. but i think i'm going to stop talking to her since, there doesn't anywhere for me to go at this point. sorry for the long read, my question is is she playing games or am i reading into it too much?

It kinda sounds like she might be testing you a bit or keeping you on your toes. Hard to say for sure. A few thoughts:

- Bringing up her age repeatedly is definitely her way of letting you know there's a boundary, even if she jokes about it too.

- The story about "Thor" could have been just a joke, not necessarily a sign she's interested. Girls can tease without meaning anything by it.

- That she didn't give you a direct answer when you asked her out is another warning sign, instead of shutting it down she brought up age again.

- Playing along and bantering instead of making a commitment to hang could be her just enjoying the attention without really wanting to meet up yet.

My advice would be don't read too much into vague signals. If she hasn't clearly agreed to a date yet, don't get your hopes up. She may like the ego boost of having you interested without actually wanting to meet. I'd keep it casual and maybe ask less directly next time, see how she responds without making plans. If she's still being hard to pin down, then she's probably not that into you my dude. No point wasting your time chasing games.

Sounds like she wants you to be more direct, she is older than you and hinted at that on her Birthday. She also hasn't blocked you yet so you haven't struck out yet.
