Why would he give me his number if we are in different countries?

I met this guy, when he was working in my city, on a dating app. We didn’t get to meet in person before he moved back to his hometown (due to my schedule changing) which is in a different country. He works seasonally in my country.

We first talking talking on Snapchat and then he asked to follow me on Instagram and we started talking on there. We talk everyday, and he just gave me his phone number while dming.

Guys, is this a good sign? Why would he give me his number if we are so far apart?

It sounds like he offering you to keep in touch but think you’d be setting yourself up. What kind of relationship can you build in separate countries? Imagine all the lonely nights, depression and sadness you’d face due to the distance. Not to mention how expensive it would be and that’s considering you’re even able to see each other more than the time a year he visits. You’d be miserable.
