I've been talking with this old friend from highschool. We met up once after around 8-9 years. He called me later, said he wanted to see me again sometime. Then we talked via Whatsapp a couple of times (I texted and then he texted and asked what's up and such, it was small talk)

After he texted me last time, we stopped talking for a while but he kept liking my story posts on Instagram.

So I texted him and we've been talking but it's just small talk again, mostly about his dog or my cats.

Should I invite him for dinner or something? Or should I wait for him to do it?
