Do you guys think I’m moving too fast?

My crush and I have been messaging back and forth on messenger (Facebook) for about three days. Today, I messaged him my number and told him we can text instead of continuing on messenger because it’s certain conversations we can have through text that we can’t or wouldn’t want to have on messenger considering messenger is less private than text messaging. I don’t want him to think I’m talking about getting serious so soon (Which I’m not) but I know as we get to know each other and talk more the conversations will get deeper and more personal and that would be a better fit for text rather than messenger.

Too fast? When are you going to meet? I was dating online for some time, and quickly learned that texting before meeting is a waste of time. I met a couple of women after texting or phoning and there was no attraction.

I already met him. We worked together.

I see. Then no, you aren't. How does he feel?

It actually turned out well. I over explained the reason to why I wanted to text rather than use messenger (I use to over-explain a lot with my ex because he made me feel like I always had to over-explain myself and so I projected that on to him (my crush) but he caught it right away and asked why I over-explain. I was honest with him and his response was “You can be comfortable with me. I like you. Whatever you feel comfortable doing or talking to me about. You can.” In other words he said “I’m not your ex.” And that reassured me a lot and made me feel that we are off to a decent start.
