Is a woman cheating different to a man cheating?

I’ve heard this statement a lot. Do men and woman cheat (particularly have affairs) for different reasons?

yes. women cheat to have sex with a person they actually find attractive. cause they tend to settle for a "husband" character, neglecting the importance of sexual attraction.

men cheat to have sex with a person that actually lets them have sex with them as opposed to their wife, who typically withholds sex from them for the reason i already explained in the first paragraph.

They both cheat for the same reasons.

Women predominately cheat based on their emotions. With a random occurrence of pure lust.

Men on the other hand cheat based on predominately lust. With a random occurrence of emotion.

It’s both bad I just recommend if your going to do it learn from a woman as they do it better.

We are different and studies have shown that men and women not only cheat for diffferent things but also views cheating differently.

There is definitely a correleation found with studies based on gender.

Impossible unless you done the study yourself. Most studies match and say the same thing. Men cheat more for sex and women more for emotional reasons, obviously doesn't mean all men cheat for sex for example. Just that more men cheat for sex than for emotional reasons. Studies also show genders view emotional and physical cheating differently. For men physical cheating has bigger impact than on women, while women care more about emotional cheating.

@Whoswhohere as a psychologist, who has done a number of researches, I believe raw data only. And yes, raw data for every article should be somewhere available for any other scientist to check if the author didn't make a mistake. It's called the transparency in the science.

I can't post links because i am new. But look for journal called
"Infidelity in Relation to Sex and Gender: The Perspective of Sociobiology Versus the Perspective of Sociology of Emotions" I found it on spinger link. This is just one article I have to say.

Do you realise this is your opinion only as well? Its your opinon they don't know what they are talking about. If most scientists agree on something, and there are studies to prove it then its valid evidence for considering it to be true.
I haven't seen any studies arguing what you say on the other hand.

@Whoswhohere scientists agreed smoking is not toxic, that storing radioactive garbage in the water is safe and many other stupid things. Sometimes, the opinions were paid, and sometimes, they were based on mistakes in methodologies used for data interpretation. I still believe the raw data

Men cheat because their partner does not allow certain practices, kink, fetish in the intimacy of the couple or because sex in general is missing.

Women can also cheat for sex, especially if they meet boring men who like to do the usual vanilla things, without integrating anything else, but in the vast majority of cases also by emotional factors.
