I need advice on how to confess my feslings (read below for context)?

I met this girl during my Gap year in another country. We became friends and I did develop a crush on her. She had a boyfriend, so I never really acted on my feelings. I'm back in my home country, and we've definitely become closer since being back. We call once a week and message back and forth. She recently broke up with her boyfriend and I want to tell her how I feel. I'm just worried I'm gonna screw it all up. She calls me her best friend, and while she does say things to me that I feel come across as something you wouldn't just say to a friend, I'm just not sure how to approach this. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

Yo man that's definitely tricky territory but it could also be an opportunity. Here's what I think:

First off, now that she's single it IS possible she could see you as more than a friend too. Feelings can change.

But you also don't wanna mess up the friendship if she doesn't feel the same way about you.

I say try hinting at it first when you call/text next. Ask her subtle questions about what she's looking for now or if she thinks of you just as a friend. Get a sense without directly confessing yet.

If she seems open to the possibility, ask to video chat and then tell her you've always had a little crush but valued her friendship. Say you understand if she doesn't see you that way but you had to be honest.

If she just wants to be pals, accept it gracefully and don't make it weird. If there's a chance she could like you back too, ask her out for real when you visit next! Live your best life man! 🤙

I don't know how you would approach the issue of the distance between you two. Would you travel every once in a while or would she want to move to your country? Those are the problems that arise with long distance relationships and that is also why, most of them don't last. It is simply too much of a burden.

As to confessing your feelings, you also have to be prepared for rejection. How do you handle this situation? Have you got a plan B for that case and are you ready to sacrifice your friendship in case she rejects you?

If you want to confess, then there are not many options. Simply tell her in your own words what you feel for her and observe her reaction. The best would naturally be if you could tell her on a face-to-face situation and not over video chat or text. That is not personal enough and it is more difficult to observe the reactions.
