I would ignore it if it were only one or two of my buddies telling me this but I am getting told this by a couple of my friends that as a guy, I'm supposed to be 'putting myself out there'. I didn't express any willingness to be going out and looking for relationships but my friends tell me that they think I'm putting extra efforts to hold myself back (I don't know how). I'm good at speaking whenever it is needed, I just don't flirt or gossip around.
I don't expect any miracles or some girl coming out to approach me but what's something a guy should be doing for putting himself out there? Is it a must... something guys should be doing or am I missing out on something?

I hear ya man, it can be tough figuring out all that dating stuff. But your friends might have a point - sometimes you gotta put in a little effort if you wanna find someone special, you feel me?
A few things I'd say could help you get "out there" without going overboard:
- Smile and make eye contact with cute girls you see. Even just a friendly nod can break the ice.
- Ask female friends to set you up or double date. Introduce you to their single friends.
- Join a co-ed sports league, activity group, or take a class. Something you like where you'll meet new people.
- Online can work too. Just keep your profile lighthearted and see who you vibe with.
- When out with the crew, chat up any girls near you. Compliment something about them, but nothing creepy.
- Don't be afraid to ask a girl for her number if you click. Worst she can say is no.
The key is just putting yourself in more social situations and interactions without stressing. A relationship might happen naturally that way over time. No need to go overboard - just be more open to opportunities when they come up, ya feel? You got this bro!
put yourself out where... and for what?
this decision should be yours and should come from you, not others...
first, you should think and know... about what you would really want and like, that's the first step...
there is no such thing as "everyone must do this" no...
Putting out to be open for relationships, dating etc.
Ikr! It's gotta be my decision always. I never faced anyone saying this to me. But some of my peers...
let me ask two straight questions...
1.- Do you feel worthy of being a relationship?
and
2.- Do you feel capable of making someone else happy, in a relationship with you?
I don't do relationships. I only plan to marry and yes, I recognise my duties very well. But atm, I don't plan to marry.
oh okay... so, your plan is to only have one relationship, in the future... with the one woman you marry?
and nothing, nobody else...
Yes, one wife is the plan so far. But whatever God wills, I will make myself content with it.
And no, I don't plan to involve myself with women outside of marriage.
then, that is how you should go...
and the opinions or suggestions of others... will be just that, your life, your choices... your happiness
