Being long distance is so hard especially when they won't let you send a letter!
Try writing one and taking pictures of it!
Give him some space for him and be a listening ear for his frustrations as well as a pleasant distraction from the stress once he's not busy preparing. He's going to need all his focus on the exams for a bit, then you can have some great quality time with him after.
