The very fact we dismiss people based purely on what the bio says, or a picture of them doing something we don’t like, means we will miss potential good matches.
It’s great to filter people, but it’s still very superficial.
I think most of the people we don’t swipe on would be better irl when we can hear them talk, see expressions and hear/see them laugh.

i doubt i would still like people with beards and who smoke etc at least the apps help us get rid of those ones as in real life we would have to ask!

My ex was a smoker. I didn’t know before I met him and didn’t know for the first 3-4 dates! Anyway, I was pretty miffed when I saw him light up for the first time on date 5, but he was such a good match I let it go.
He’s probably the only smoker I’ve met who never smelt of smoke.
But yeah, I still make a point of swiping away smokers if it’s on the bio…

I think one has to remember why someone is on a dating app to begin with. Because generally people cannot stand them in real life. People like to romanticize the notion that they're going to find some diamond in the rough. The reality is they're going to just find lumps of coal. Bury them and check back in a 100 million years.😆😆😆

Being catfished is not a risk if you don't waste time texting before meeting. The biggest risk is that you meet someone who lied about their appearance. That happened to me a couple of times. I was using match so the people who were on the site were serious about wanting to meet someone.

The negative for online dating for me is date’s not going anywhere, smokers, people that can respect no means no , ghosting after met up with one men snd turn out be player and scoping around people social media. sometimes is ok and other times is not.

The entire system is flawed and is extremely superficial in nature. You will not attract the best people on dating apps.

A lot of people are just looking to hook up not date. And if you do meet up you have the potential of the person being a creep or crazy and you could be in danger

Well I start conversations, I do ask them about their interests. And their replies are so basic. Yes , no.. Then they dont want to ask about your interests.. But I kind of gave up on all that. I'll have a look at the FB one here and there. Do you use these websites? You a model, a doctor or a fireman or something? Or you are not picky?

@Nikki1989 they totally do. In the U. S. we don't have good community places to meet like-minded people anymore, other than religious functions. But, if you're like the many people who aren't religious, then your options are limited to meeting some drunks at the bar or online dating--and who wants to bother with people who use the bar to slcialize?
