Is “I work a lot” text a bad lie?

My crush just texted me he works long hours I actually do believe him. Or is this the worst overused excuse?

It really does depend on his job and role. If you were say a buyer for a large store before Christmas, yeah you will be doing crazy hours. If you are an aircraft engineer for Boeing then you will be doing crazy hours at the moment. Now if you work in a normal 9-5 job and do not have time aggressive customers, then there are likely no deadlines etc to meet, this means you would have time to see girlfriend, partner etc.

If a girl was wanting to spend time with me, I'd make effort to spend time with her
