My boyfriend and I said we will not hang the opposite gender. But now he is. We have been dating almost for 2 years. Is he just getting more comfortable?

Try to meet them and judge for yourself if it would be good for him to hang with this girl. My boyfriend has a lot of female friends that he hangs with and one best friend in particular that he hangs out with a lot but I met her and she's pretty cool and has made it clear that there are no romantic feelings at all and that she sees him as a brother and vice versa.

But if you have made a promise not to then express to him how you feel about it and hope he stops seeing this girl.
