Why do people jump to extremes if something is below or above the median?

Like when women say any dick below the exact avg is small; realistically, no, any dick 2 or more standard deviations below the exact average is small. Anything in between is either simply below average or lower side of average.

Or when they say a guy right under the exact avg height is short; realistically, no, any guy 2 or more standard deviations below the exact average is short.

Or when when a guy says a girl is pretty when she’s like a 5 objectively; no, that starts around a 7, on a 0 - 10 scale…

Most people are average and saying someone who is average is short/tall, small/big or hot/ugly totally undermines the whole distinction between those terms.
