Do people get upset if those they view as lower then them succeed?

I had people try to block my success when I began to grow and expand cause they took pride in the fact they were more intelligent or worthy than certain people and when that belief was threatened they got jealous. I knew people who would not let me write news articles or display my artwork because I made them feel dumb and I had people make up lies about my behaviour and intelligence cause they were jealous I had opportunities they did not and I had people try to ban me from soliciting advice about my career cause they were jealous I had more potential than them.

My aunt and uncle tried to manufacture the lie I lied about graduating university because their son made more money than me but went to a less prestigious school and when I could prove I graduated, they tried to prove I lied about having an honours degree, they kept telling people it was just a graduation diploma. And I had a friend who flunked out of college who told me my degree was worthless. Even my mother tried to sabotage my career and education out of jealousy.
