Me and my boyfriend live with his dad. How do I act kind and not come off rude or weird?

So I have like really bad anxiety in General. And recently I’ve been staying with my boyfriend at his dads house. But my boyfriend said I come off as rude, even though I don’t mean it. Also the dad said I am too closed off.

But I have really bad social anxiety, and my boyfriend and his dad just started to really bond for the first time. So he is a little weird around his dad also. But I am trying my best in my eyes. Any tips on this?

I’m just naturally a shy and reserved person, but I feel bad that I come off as rude. Also I’m not sure if my boyfriend really wanted me to stay here in the 1st place so it just throws everything off.

I would just have a conversation with his dad and tell him how grateful you are to him to let you stay at his house and explain to him that you know that sometimes people think you are rude or standoffish, but that you are really just shy and introverted. Tell him that you don't want him to think you are rude because you don't mean it that way and you really appreciate his hospitality.
