I’m 26 and never had a boyfriend. So I’m confused , once you get a boyfriend , the girl just tells him let’s meet my family and he says yes? what if he says no and never agrees to meet family after a year or longer? Do you continue dating him many years or dump him? I see all girls bring bfs to family holdiays Easter Thanksgiving Christmas , bday parties, attend Restraunts with family and bring her boyfriend, how they do all that? How does a guy agree to all that? I assume if a girl shows up to all those events alone she would be single.

or maybe I don’t know as I never had a boyfriend? I never had a guy say we are offical couple. ☹️

Yes, eventually. When you decide to date exclusively, most people don't rush into meeting the families. For some people, meeting the family is what you do to determine whether your family will accept your partner and have a pleasant relationship, as a prelude to making a proposal of marriage. And some people have a family that causes them some concern or embarrassment, and they don't want to introduce a partner until they feel confident about the strength of the relationship.

When I was dating and I got to the point of introducing a girl to my mom and my siblings, I always wanred her: "When we're leaving, you're going to lean over and whisper to me, 'you were adopted, weren't you?'"

Sort of. Meeting the family isn't part of some agreement to be a couple. Neither is attending all their activities. So going by how you phrased the question (When you enter) it should be a no. I went yes anyway.

However at some point when you are both considering being in it for the long haul meeting the family becomes common. After all they are for better or worse often a bundle deal. I wouldn't say it is deadly serious though. Of course when people live at home or spend a lot of time around their family, that also makes meeting them more common.

It's bound to happen. I'm not that close with my family. But he's going to want to see them. My family is going to want to see him. It wouldn't feel right to "hide" him from the family. I don't think he'd appreciate that.

And it sucks cause he won't see the side I've seen so many times. He only sees the "Look at our best, we have a visitor" side of them.

Yes, typically you meet their family, but not straight away. It differs from person to person and what they’re comfortable with. And an exception to meeting family is if they have no contact with their family, obviously you’re not going to meet them if they’re not important in their life.

It’s just a natural thing that happens over time as the relationship develops. I will say it’s typically a red flag if it’s been months and you haven’t met any of your boyfriends friends or family. Funny enough though- I am one of those who would wait awhile because my friend and family would absolutely find some way to embarrass me.

If you want. I personally don’t care to meet and see my sisters boyfriends all the time. She’s had like three dudes in the past year and a half and I’m sick of it. I wanna spend time with family. Not sone weird guy she won’t even be dating long anyways.

It depends on how long you’re with him. He don’t need to meet your family on the first date. Take things slow and as things get more serious. Introduce him.

yes, if in a long term serious relationship. there will be meetings, dinners, holidays, special occasions, without a doubt. you two are supposed to merge your lives together and one of the ways to do so is to get families involved

I’ve neevr had a guy meet my family. I’ve never had a boyfriend. The one guy I dated acted like a boyfriend but would don’t meet fmaily deny spend holidays with me I would be alone daily. Maybe that isn’t even a relationship Ihave no experience
