If I went somewhere with a friend, I wouldn't call it a date.

I only asked girls on dates if I found them physically attractive. The point of the date was to see how well we hit it off. The ultimate hope was to begin dating exclusively and begin a long-term, infatuated relationship. Not a platonic relationship.
