I don’t currently have a boyfriend, but answered the questions of the quiz according to the time we were together. I got a result “Great Boyfriend”. 15 out of 15 points.  What’s your result?

This is how I answered the test:

When you're feeling down, how does he comfort you? He offers me reassurance and positive affirmation (I'm pretty good with communication)

What would you say is your boyfriend's best quality? His humor and wit (I felt that caring would be a better option for a relationship here)

Has your boyfriend ever cheated on you? No, he has never cheated (cheating is 100% for low EQ scumbags)

Is he affectionate towards you in public? Sometimes (Not super into PDA, but I feel it sometimes)

What do your friends think of your boyfriend? They can't stand him and want me to break up with him (my 2nd ex was this, but my last ex... her friends were neutral with me)

Does he buy you gifts or do nice things for you on special occasions? Every now and then he does something nice. (I do stuff when things should be celebrated, like she got a job or promotion, her birthday, Christmas, or just once in a while want to do something fun together. I definitely don't shower her in gifts though)

Is he proud to call you his girlfriend? He seems to be secretive about our relationship (I personally believe the less people that are aware of every scenario in a relationship, the better. I don't care who she tells we're in a relationship. But I don't go posting stuff on social media)

Does he carry his weight financially in the relationship? Sometimes. He may struggle to carry his weight financially (The question was about carrying your own weight and not being able to provide for the girl, so yes I never let a girl pay for me in any way unless I pay her back, but I am broke a lot of the time so I do struggle a little 😂)

Have you ever caught him in a lie? I have caught him lying once or twice, but only about the small stuff (Hey I'm not perfect 😂)

Does being with him make you feel happy? I'm mostly happy with him (I don't think many people are happy with their partner 24/7, but I'd like to think I make my partners happy for the most part)

How does he react when you achieve something important to you? He celebrates my achievements and supports me (Yup, ideally we're going out to celebrate or I'm very vocal about my being happy for her)

How often does he communicate with you during the day? We talk frequently and he checks up on me (I've never had any issues with communication. I'm always communicating with my partners throughout the day)

Does he respect your personal space and boundaries? Yes he always respects my space and boundaries (I don't fuck around with this. If she tells me fuck off, I'm fucking off. If she tells me she's not in the mood, I'm disappointed, but not pushing it)

How does he handle disagreements or arguments? He listens, communicates, and works towards a resolution (I'm a pretty effective communicator during a conflict, and I'm usually calm, unless I'm pushed and she makes the same points over and over again... then I end the conversation and take my space.)

Does he take an interest in your hobbies and interests? Yes he shows genuine interest and supports my passions (I'm super supportive of my partners interests and passions. It's likely part of what drew me to them in the first place)

I don't obviously think a 15 question BuzzFeed test is gonna be super accurate, but I do think I'm a pretty decent partner 😅

Not particularly.

There's no incentive to be a good boyfriend in 2024, in fact if a woman sees you as a boyfriend material in 2024 it's time to pull the ejection handle and punch out.

The boyfriend material guy is THE WORST GUY TO BE right now.

The casual guy gets sex without investing much (and when the girl gets bored of boyfriend guy will likely receive a call to meet those needs)

The boyfriend material guy gets the honor of being questioned about what he brings to the table, having to invest in the woman (without her investing much in him), listening to her, providing emotional support, and generally having to commit to her in exchange for sex on her terms at all times (because it's not something she freely gives to him, it something he has to earn with her).

Add insult to injury that in 2024 when dating a woman, you can almost always be assured there's another guy in the picture somewhere. And odds are fairly high that that guy is fucking her now, maybe even after one of those "romantic" dates you took her on, professing she 'needs to get to know you' and 'needs to be sure of x y z.' So after 5-10 dates she will put out for you what she gave to casual sex guy in 30 minutes.

The power point position of course as a guy is to be the one she will give sex to but wants a relationship with -- that will be a much better relationship for you.

BUT IN THIS WORLD of compromises, between the guy who's just good for a hookup and boyfriend material guy...

AVOID WOMEN WHO SEE YOU AS boyfriend MATERIAL. AT ALL COSTS.

First-hand experience suggests I'm utterly atrocious... which is why I don't do that sort of thing any more.

As to why... I'm a cat. I behave as a cat does. Which in practice means I'm far too independent to be suited to relationships. Every relationship I've been in I just ended up feeling smothered and acting out because I didn't get enough privacy.
