Do you set a CURFEW on dates?

This question is for everyone, whether you are single, engaged, in a relationship, or married.

When you go on a date the night before a workday, do you set a curfew for yourself so that you, and your date, are back home at a reasonable time... so that you can both be ready for work the next day?

If you're in school, this would apply to having class the next day.

I feel like I have so much experience with women, but almost none of it has come in the form of traditional “dating.” I was answering a similar question the other day and I was saying that I thought “hey, I think you’re cute, can I take you out to dinner Saturday night?” was a TV/movie trope, because it’s just never, ever been that kind of dynamic for me. Like if we’re out to dinner…. I’ve BEEN smashin’, probably for a minute, too, hahaha. I don’t even say that to be rude, I would just meet girls via partying or work, we’d randomly hook up, and then we’d just keep it going for a while if we liked each other. THEN maybe I’d take her out on a date. Like I’ve never had a date where the date was part of the audition process, basically.

So I’ve never really been out on technical dates with someone who I wasn’t already involved with, so it’s less of an open-ended thing, it’s just going to end back at one of our places (or our place together, when applicable), there’s no “dinner went pretty well, but I still have more work to put it in. It’d be nice to take her on extended walk through the park and make more progress…. but I have work in the morning.” It’s just like “am I getting some action? Or is she gonna say “not tonight, I have the opening shift tomorrow.”, haha. Bedtime is already kinda built in.

I guess I’ve had some late wait-outs to hook up though😂 Like the chick is into me but she’s also drunk and with her friends, so I’m sitting there patiently waiting for her attention to turn back to me, and not get boner-affecting drunk in the meantime, lmfao.

Hypothetically, I could see myself just running an all-nighter if things are going well. It was easy in college because I could just skip class, and I was probably gonna do that regardless😂😂😂

I never did that. I dated a girl that was younger than me and she had a curfew of 11:30. We were at Mt father's house watching TV. It was about a half hour ride to her house. It was snowing pretty hard out. She suddenly tells me she had to be home by 11:30. So we jump in my car ansmd stard driving. I did not have 4 wheel drive and was fidhtailing around the corners. She kept telling me to go faster. I was going way too fast to begin with. We just made it in time. I had to wonder if her father would have wanted me to risk our lives the way I did to save 7 or 8 minutes

Yes and no. IF we do something while one of us has to get up early we begin earlier and try to get home on time.
Normally its a priority, that on a datenight non of us has an early morning.

When i was dating, a date on a weeknight usually involved dinner and it ended fairly early - 9:00 to 10:00 pm. If it involved a concert, that would usually need later but then i would take her home.

My wife and I typically only go on dates at night when we don't have work the next day so that we don't have to worry about waking up so early the next morning (we don't have any kids yet).

I never set such a curfew though at any point in my life, even when I was a bachelor and had work early the next day. I figure if the date is going so well, it's worth arriving a bit sleep-deprived the next day (although I was at least responsible enough not to drink heavily on those nights). If the date wasn't going so swimmingly then I'd mention it and negotiate when to leave. I might stay a bit longer if the woman is having a great time and try changing up the scenery if I'm not enjoying the date as much.

I should clarify above that I'd mention my early schedule the next day, sorry! Not that I think the date isn't going well. Although I did sometimes in a brash way like, "I'm getting bored, let's bounce!" But careful to imply that I'm getting bored of where we're at, now with her.

Not really, but if it was going badly I would tell them I had something to do early the next day to be able to leave.

Not a set time but you do use a bit commonsense and don't stay out until 2am

I work nights and I often see these young women stumbling out of the clubs at 2:00AM on a Wednesday or Thursday morning. I do wonder what kind of jobs they have where they can function totally hungover and sleep deprived.

Only if it was on a weekday. I always asked girls out on weekends or during nights when I was off the next day. So, no curfews.

me snd my boyfriend live together so we often just let the other person know we are ready to go home

We always make sure we are back in reasonable time as we work very early in the morning so sleep is a must.

Yes. I'm functional till about 11pm so depending how far the date is from my place I need to leave accordingly.
