How often do you go on romantic dates once official?

I just always felt they were a bit misleading. I don’t need all the flowers, chocolates, candlelight dinners and other bullshit in the impression stage. We both know when we become official, that shit will likely only continue to occur within the first 3 months of the relationship (if not once a month or only on Valentines Day) 😂 I don’t see either of us putting in as much “romantic date” effort every Friday night. Kudos to those of you that do but I just feel it would be hyping up my expectations. Like I don’t want McDonalds for a date, but start me off with something else we’d likely do often like walking the beach, attending a sports game, going to Starbucks, going fishing, watching a movie, stargazing, going to the theme park, playing laser tag, paintball, etc. Those things can be sweet/fun even if not the most romantic

When I was working, I liked to do things on my days off. If I was dating, the two of us would go places and do things together. Anything we did together was romantic, whether it was going to the beach, the mountains, a botanical garden, a museum, wineries, or just taking a drive. Just sharing experiences, walking and holding hands, or sitting with our arms around each other and kissing was romantic.

I didn't do a lot of romancing with flowers, candles, gifts, and that kind of thing. I didn't have to woo her like that. Although, I would sometimes do romantic, intimate things to surprise her at home with flowers, candles, music, wine, etc.

On special days like birthdays, Valentine's Day, and New Year's, I'd usually do something really romantic like taking her to a nice restaurant or special event.

I wouldn't do the dolled up dinner dates for long. That's more in the pre-official phase. Would do comfortable cafe experiences for longer cause I live in a cafe precinct and going to cafes is what we do here. It would be more in the nature I'm hungry, So am I, lets go to cafe X or cafe Y and off we go.

In the bonding phase you are building intimacy, so nights with good cheeses, wine and various delicatessen foods and movies are pretty good. Better than cafes, cause the bed is closer.

It gets down to sharing pleasant or fun experiences quite quickly. Walking along the beach on a warm night, maybe watching the sunset first. Theme parks. Maybe paint ball. Going on a drive into the country on a weekend.

Exactly as you saying. The romance is in you so you don't need romantic settings.

Once a month for sure once a month my husband plans a date just the two of ud something romantic and fun like when we were dating. We get a hotel room and spend the night not anything extravagant, we aren't rich lol, but a room at a decent hotel we spend the night have some drinks and some romance where no kids are around no knocking on our door. No 'Mooooommmm are you guys coming out of your room soon" or "moooom Im hungry or have you seen my what ever" lol just a nice night alone with my husband and great romance. Once in a while my hubby surprises me with a date ot I surprise him but at least once a month!

I mean really that depends on the people dating. So yes going out and doing something nice and showing off is really fun but so is doing a really nice romantic dinner in with a hand made meal and candles and music and where you actually get to totally dress down and have a nice hot bath together after and your phones get locked away or something.

Either way obviously it is a lot of work and all too often people get too wrapped up in gaving sex and living life rather then making things romantic and I get that but personally I would much rather maintain some romance and try to do “something” romantic once a month.

in my case and experience... official means, we're in a relationship

and in that situation, we can even live together but whether or not we live together... we'll meet every single day... and going out together to a nice place, or to do something fun/interesting is usually two or three times a week

the most romantic and bonding though... that does happen more on the every day things when hanging out together at her place or mine, or living together... lol

It's not like things aren't going well, we have a very affectionate life and get along perfectly, but her idea of a romantic evening is to just cuddle on the couch and then make love.

I try to do something fun with her once a week when we both have a day off. Sometimes just hanging at home spending time together getting cozy on the couch watching a good movie is sometimes enough to make it romantic. You need at least to make a effort to be romantic while be official so the person feels loved and wanted.

We don’t do the flowers, chocolates, etc that you mentioned, but once a week we make time for an activity (sat or sun) …it may be the walk on the beach or going to a game, or a fun dinner out.
