Are you desperately trying to stay single?

My mum called me out of the blue to check up on me and asked how work was going. I told her everything was fine and that there was nothing new to my life, she then tried to do the whole “slip in question” asking me when are you going to see someone and start dating and getting married and giving me grandchildren.

Look i know she means well i really do, but i’m not interested to commit to anyone yet.

Do you feel the same? Parents harassing you about it? Maybe your friends are in a different stage in their life and want to wish you the same joy that they are, but you are frankly ain’t interested at all yet?

Or are you the exact opposite and trying to desperately get into a relationship?

As you will know it becomes harder to have children after 30 and it takes 2 years for most couples to get married. So it is 3 years lead time if you want to do this in the context of a marriage. That is if you meet the right man tomorrow. A couple of almost right men might add another 4 years to the lead time.

You might prefer to be single and child free. Good luck to you if you do. You might decide to go the sperm bank instead of going the marriage route. Good luck to you again.

At 30 though it is becoming a multiple aspect decision and you should be aware of that is all I am saying. No skin of my nose. I have made that decision myself so I'm not pointing the bone.

I just broke up with my girlfriend for multiple reasons mostly because I need me time and she has difficulties with not talking to people she likes at all times. But we'll be friends stil I feel like a weight was lifted off me tbh. But I'd be in a relationship if I found the right person that fit into my life. I just started out my journey though when it comes to dating and I still have a log way to go. I'm just letting things come to me atm. And focusing on my life. But if a opportunity presents itself I will pursue it.

I can relate. Especially in my culture there is no dating. It's just instant marriage lol. My parent's always try to get me to get married. Plus when someone is as beautiful as you you have every right to be picky and have options. That beautiful face of yours and my god that tan. You have the most perfect tan ;).

Nah, I'm in my mid 30s about to turn another year in a week. I'm dating around and want a serious relationship, while I wasn't dating at all in my early 30s. I wish i found someone sooner, but it is what it is. It just becomes easier if you want to have kids down the line.

My parents joke about it but they don't bring it up or try to talk about it with me they know that if or when I want to talk about it I will.

As for me trying desperately to stay single or get into a relationship, well neither. I'm just going with flow like I have been for years and it'll happen when it's time to happen.

I'm at a place right now where im just fine being single but if i meet the right person i would be ok going for that too. but it can't be just anyone for me to try it out.

So single life is good for me.

I used to want to marry quickly and settle down young and all that jazz and while I do still sometimes catch myself feeling lonely and whatnot, I also remind myself of how much freedom there is with being single which I also like.

I'm asexual, my parents are cool with it but I have a family funeral next week so that'll be fun because they were far more focused on relationships and all that when I last contacted them

Never had to try to stay single, it’s just how it is, I’ve already been married before but would like to be with someone again but it never happens , never been single by choice
