When is the right time to ask "what are we?

I've been seeing this guy, for about 4 1/2 months now , a few dates, arcade, dinner, movies, car dates, got me a birthday gift. His birthday is coming up , we haven't had intercourse but yeah we've been intimate if you know what I mean lol not rushing it. Im wondering when is it the right time to ask the "what are we?" Question I don't know if it's too early or not this is my first time ever grasping someone's attention for more than a month. I like him but dk if he just sees me as a friend

you dont have to ask like that, you may ask him to be exclusive, if he is not all for it, than its a red flag

Either he is stringing you along or he can as some men be dense to the fact that he should define the relationship and ask you to be his girlfriend. Some men think actions speak more than words but he needs to ask you to be his girlfriend
