Meaning, maybe she doesn’t have a good family or doesn’t come from a lot of money but she’s good in every other aspect.

I just wonder sometimes because people are always shocked when they get to know me. They assume I’m a preppy white girl because I’m pretty and white and I appear to have things together. But really, I come from a family of addicts/mental health issues, not much money, and grew up in the hood. Sometimes as soon as I talk, people can tell that I’m a bit ghetto lol. (no offence to preppy white girls by the way I just can’t relate to that.) I went to college, but in this economy, I really have nothing to offer right now besides myself.

I'm a guy, I have talked to a LOT of guys frankly about all of this stuff. Most men couldn't care less about a woman's background unless there are insurmountable cultural differences; you don't see lower class women with upper class men for instance, or Muslim women with European men, but otherwise it makes no real difference for women what their background is. Be careful of assuming that you're good in all other ways though; do you work, or are you going to sit at home doing very little of anything? What else do you offer, really? That's the stuff that's going to be most important in your future relationships. Men on the other hand better at least be earning a reasonable amount, and they're almost certainly going to be limited in their options if they're near the bottom of the socio-economic stack.

Personally, I kinda prefer it. It just means the girls going to be a little more down to earth. Or at least more likely to be someone who's mindset is grounded to reality more.

I've been broke, poor and even a little rich growing up so I know how to get us to blend in anywhere. It's nice when you have someone like that around you.

There's all sort of guys and everyone has their own preferences. It may very well be that the guy you like would also be turned off from it.
Personally, it doesn't matter to me at all. I only care about the girl and if she has the character as well as personality I'd be down to help her out through everything.
