If you were a 27-year-old, would you date - Younger or Older?

Older - Tend to be more mature, less dramatic, wiser, more sophisticated, sweet, soft-spoken, quite attractive and very interesting in their own regard - But while you might think they know what they want, some of them still do not know what they know and will still waste your time, if you don’t choose wisely.

Younger - Enthusiastic, energetic, Idealistic, haven’t experienced much of a heartbreak and while they are more aloof, they are more flexible minded and more romantic. They also are willing to learn with and from you. They are fit, optimistic and believe in love.

Which one would you choose for long-term dating and why?

I always, without deliberately trying, dated women very close to my age but always just slightly younger. My wife is only 4 months younger than me, for example.

So now if I was hypothetically single at 43, without deliberately trying, I'd probably date women in the age range of 35-43 years old. That's an 8 year difference which sounds huge but it's because I'm 43; relatively it's not so huge.

If I was 27, probably in the range of 25-27 or something like that.

Again this is all without trying to specifically select dates based on age. The way I selected women for dating when I was single is if I found them attractive enough and really engaged in the deepest, "soul-sharing" conversations with them. Then I'd ask them out if I felt like we could bare our souls to each other and still be so mutually drawn to each other regardless.

With how things worked out, that always -- for whatever reason -- ended up leading to dates with women extremely close to my age.

I would only ever date younger men. I've noticed millennial men and up (the older men than me) have such a sour outlook on life, very bitchy, aren't emotionally open, dont wanna grow up attitude, many of them won't work on bettering themselves. Gen z men (younger than me) are the complete opposite of this. Willing to work on themselves and the relationship. Not sour and aren't afraid to be emotional. Acutally mature. They are just lovely men to be around.

So I will say this is more attraction based on a generational divide but just so happens that my age falls in between this divide. If I was a different age I'd maybe think differently.

I don't think I even ask the age question when I meet new people...

from my experience, I create better connections with men my age or older probably; a similar life experience factor plays here a significant role..., but there were some exceptions :D

At 39 you are about out of time to have a healthy child. Sperm banks stop taking sperm from men at about 35-40 because it's no longer quality anymore. Maybe you have already frozen sperm from your younger years or something tho. If that's the case you can use that and have a younger woman. If not it's risking the mother and babies health to have older sperm

Sperm doesn't deteriorate like eggs; as it is created daily. As opposed to once during the life of a woman. So men are much more able to have healthy offspring past 40.

That's acutally not true. As a man ages his hormones go down so naturally he creates less healthy sperm. A young completely healthy man only has 5% of his sperm as quality. With age and hormone drops its even less. So literally playing with 1-2% healthy sperm. Maybe if not even closer to 0%
As a woman that's going to be a surrogate in the future I will not choose men over 30-35 just because of the huge risk older fathers have on the placenta health

What you are describing is a problem of low Testosterone and not old age. Granted old age typically causes low Testosterone. However, the two major symptoms of low Testosterone is erectile dysfunction and low sex drive. So guys with unhealthy sperm will be either uninterested or incapable of having sex to begin with. Also they can improve their testosterone levels through supplements and improve their sperm health.
