I DM'd someone I knew on social media and asked them if I could text them. My first question was do you have the same contact info since we last spoke and they said Yeah. I haven't spoken to them in years and the last time we spoke it was heated.

I feel like I do need permission yea and that's cause of all the thirst crap going around, I personally refuse to be confused for a thirsty bastard so I don't message women unless they either hit me up first or they ask if I wanna DM, women don't really have this problem cause women can basically just hit up who they want without giving off any aura to the extent men do

No if you have their number still just do it. If they don't want to talk to you they will either ignore you or do the right thing and tell you they are not interested in chatting with you.
