How often do you meet someone new when you're single?

How long does it take for you to feel the need to meet someone new after your last relationship ended? Is it the length or the intensity of your previous relationship that determines the time you take to heal? How long does it take you to be able to commit again? I've been single for 3.5 years now, I usually start seeing someone new on average 2-3 months after the last one, regardless of how long it lasted. Often, I feel it's harder to move on when it has been short and intense, rather than long-term. How about you?

My girlfriend is not the only friend I was flirting with before I asked her our. Ut was literally a coin flip between her and another good friend. That friend actually asked me why I didn't ask her out. I don't know if she would have agreed, but it seems odd that she'd ask me that if she wasn't interested ar all. In other words, if I know I can date someone else who I find attractive, it wouldn't take long. I don't plan on breaking up though. I don't think I will eith my current girlfriend since marriage is in the cards.
